Now the policy brief on the pros and cons of natural forest expansion in Europe is published.

This brief summarises the key outcomes of the BiodivERsA-funded SPONFOREST project that studied various aspects of spontaneous forest regrowth in Europe. It distils the research project’s key findings and formulates recommendations for policymakers to consider spontaneous forests in their policies. It also sketches the overall context of expanding forest in Europe.
