In a new assignment, under lead of urban planning firm PosadMaxwan, I will assess requirements for nature protection and advise on planning ecological features for a new sports park in Vlaardingen.
After thirty years of absence, Vlaardingen intends to create a new outdoor swimming pool. Following an integral location study, the municipality wants to assess a selected location in the south of the city’s Broekpolder nature and recreation area. In this process it pays high attention to the three elements of sustainability: people, planet and profit.
I will contribute to the ‘planet’ part by assessing impacts on fauna and flora and advising mitigation measures and nature-based solutions to be integrated in the design.
It’s a great opportunity for me to continue working with the team of PosadMaxwan, Felixx, Deltares, Sweco, and Goudappel.
